PH gov’t authorizes public, private entities to refuse entry to unvaccinated people

The Philippine government has given public and private establishments the authority to refuse entry or services to people who are unvaccinated.

According to the government, this does not include establishments that offer essential services and the exemptions will be made based on medical grounds and age, considering that vaccines are yet to be administered to children younger than 12 years.

This came as the government said that all “on-site” employees need to get vaccinated by December 1.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said workers who’re eligible should get the jabs as soon as possible. The authorities have said that particularly those in public transportation sector should get vaccines to continue their operations.

The unvaccinated will need to undergo regular COVID-19 tests at their own expense. Employers have also been ordered not to mark their employees absent when they are scheduled for vaccination. (AW)
