PAL adds more flights for holidays; eyes rerouting of some flights from Dubai

Flagship carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) will add more international flights starting November as travel restrictions begin to ease amid the lower COVID-19 cases reported in the Philippines.

This move for the holiday season came as the national government increased the arrival limit in Manila to 4,000 per day, while also opening other domestic airports for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

“We thank the DOTr (Department of Transportation) for opening up more regional gateways in the country and accommodating more arriving international passengers,” PAL SVP and Chief Strategy and Planning Officer Dexter Lee said.

“We will respond by adding more flights from the Middle East, the United States, Australia and various Asian countries so that we can serve the compelling needs of our overseas Filipinos around the world,” he added.

As more airports in the country open for passengers from abroad, including OFWs, PAL is also eyeing to reroute the following Dubai flights if needed:

  • DUBAI – DAVAO PR 659 – November 4, 6, 9 and 10
  • DUBAI – CEBU PR 659 – November 5, 7, 12 and 14
  • DUBAI – SUBIC PR 659 – November 8, 11 and 13

“Having alternative gateways gives us the flexibility to adjust our network so we can fly more people home and support the revival of our local economy,” Lee said.
